Tarangire National Park is a beautiful and underrated safari destination located in northern Tanzania, known for its iconic baobab trees, vast savannahs, and large concentrations of wildlife. The park is especially famous for its massive elephant herds, which can often be seen near the Tarangire River, the park’s primary water source during the dry season. Tarangire is also home to lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, and over 500 bird species, making it a paradise for both game viewers and birdwatchers. The landscape is diverse and scenic, ranging from grassy plains to swamps and woodlands. Less crowded than other northern parks, Tarangire offers a more peaceful and authentic safari experience, especially during the dry season when animals gather in large numbers.
